In addition to the standard mounted-slide adaper and the film-strip eater, i also bought the little filmstrip tray, which works a treat for scanning 126 (though obviously not the full frame of it). Didn't think I could justify springing for a MF-capable one since I don't shoot MF. Before that I had a Microtek Artixscan which gave me nothing but grief. I still use the flatbed (a battered but serviceable Epson 4870) for 120 and 4x5. Dramatic improvement in sharpness and tonal range over my old Epson flatbed. Like OverdeaR, I bought a Plustek Opticfilm 7400, from B&H.Even with shipping it was under $300 Cdn. I'm pretty excited about getting to know this scanner and figuring out how to get the max output from it. It even came with aftermarket MF neg holders. I was ready to settle for saving up for a V500 when I ran across this deal. Also the wet scanning capability intrigued me. I found a V750M for the price of a V500.From the research I did, it seemed like the best all around scanner that could do MF (just getting into this so very important) and even some LF (if I ever get to that). (Technically it goes up to 9600 but it doesn't seem to make any difference past 2400.) It's pretty fast and I can get quite decent 2400 dpi scans out of it. It's proved to be quite a decent scanner, and the ability to scan 12 frames of 35mm at once saves a lot of time, so I'm happy. ![]() Basically it was the cheapest one on Amazon that could scan 120.
